Happy New Years!

Anyone else feel like 2020 was the fastest yet slowest year yet?

With a new year comes a lot of new years resolutions, right? Anyone started off the new year strong then let those goals and vision boards fizzle by…. March? You are not alone BUT this year can be different, and we plan on helping throughout the year (great time to subscribe to our post and page 😊)

This post will be highlighting tips and tricks to setting, manifesting, and developing your goals for 2021.

Setting goals

My (Lauren) whole mindset around goals changed 100 percent after taking Kate Lemeres Foundations course this year. She teaches how to unpack your ideas, thoughts, and motives surrounding goals to discover your TRUE goal(s). You can be motivated by social media, concepts, etc. but unless those things align with your values, you will quickly lose momentum.

EX: Our financial goal this year is to put contribute more aggressively to our mortgage.

WHY?

Because we want to be debt free

Why?

It is a personal value of ours as a family

We do not want to live outside our means

We want to be more financially prepared to purchase a new home one day

Why?

Decrease financial stress

We want a larger home to raise our family in

Why?

Increase space to children, family visiting, gathering

There are 5 stages of change that we MUST go through:

1. Precontemplation

· Creating goals that identify potential bumps in the road

2. Contemplation

· Pros and cons/risk vs benefit of your goals

3. Preparation

· Creating goals to set up YOUR needs

4. Action

· Execution and evaluation of goals

5. Maintenance

· These goals are now a part of your lifestyle

SMART goals

Specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time based

· The last Friday of each month we will review spending from the month and identify at least 1 way to cut cost for the next month

Create a goal reminder

Vision/goal board

We created goal/dream boards on large posters then hung them in our closet (somewhere we go every morning)

Folder/notebook/planner

Purchase a new notebook or planner to write all your goals, strategies, deadlines, etc.

Manifest

You have set in systems to achieve your goals; they are realistic so keep a positive attitude towards them.

Talk about your goals as if they are happening or have happened

Be proud of your goals

It may be January 1, but you have the whole year to develop and implement your goals, so we strongly encourage you take the time to fully develop your true goals, create systems to achieve them, and get after it! More to come in 2021.
